Sled: Precision Pulling - Jeff Hyatt
The Daviess County Fair Board and Ohio River Valley Tractor Pullers Association are pairing up to bring one of the fastest growing classes to the 2011 Daviess County Fair, the 6000 pound Limited Light Super Stock Tractors (LLSS).
Ohio River Valley Tractor Pullers Association (ORVTPA) was one of the first organizations to run the Limited Light Super Stock Class and is proud to say that it has grown dramatically in the last few years. Numbers in the LLSS class has skyrocketed in popularity, not only among pullers, but fans as well. There are over 30 LLSS tractors in the Kentucky/Indiana Area, any of which are capable of winning on any given night. “We’re building for the future and this class will go over real well up here; and I believe ORVTPA in general will be a good fit,” said Daviess County Fair Truck and Tractor Pull director Scott Miller.
LLSS tractors are limited to one turbo and 370 or 470 cubic inches depending on the fuel of choice, Alcohol or Diesel. One of the most exiting parts of the LLSS class is the diversity among the Tractors. You’ll see International, John Deere, New Holland, White, Massey Ferguson, Minneapolis Moline, and more. Whether you like to see the old fashioned “Smokers” or that distinct sound of an alcohol engine, the LLSS class has something for all fans!
Guys like Jerry Sipes, one of the front runners in the class, have figured out how to get high horsepower despite the turbo and cubic inch limitations. The high horsepower and light weight of the LLSS class always makes for a few wild rides and an always-exiting show for fans.
The Daviess County Fair Board is adding an additional $1,000 to the prize money for the LLSS class and an additional $500 each to the Limited Pro's and 4x4 Trucks during the fair which will bring entrants from all around Kentucky and Indiana. ORVTPA is allowing Pullers from other organizations to run with them for a limited number of pulls in 2011. The large prize money at the Daviess County Fair is sure to be one of the pulls to bring pullers down from Michigan, Wisconsin and other states largely involved in the LLSS class.
